Programme Outcome
  • Students will learn the basic principles of plant cells and tissues; plant organs; plant physiology; plant reproduction and diversity; and plant ecology.
  • Students will examine plants using observational tools, scientific techniques, and empirical analysis.
  • Students can recall details and information about the evolution, anatomy, morphology, systematics, genetics, physiology, ecology, and conservation of plants, algae, and fungi.
  • Students can recall details of the unique ecological and evolutionary features of the Gamble flora.
Scope
  • After duly completing a bachelor’s education in Botany, a candidate can look forward to being a part of the industry by working as a technician, Farming Consulting, Environmental Consultancies, Plant Pathologist, Molecular Biologist, Nursery Manager, Ecologist, Plant Explorer.

Programme Outcome
  • Students will learn the basic principles of plant cells and tissues; plant organs; plant physiology; plant reproduction and diversity; and plant ecology.
  • Students will examine plants using observational tools, scientific techniques, and empirical analysis.
  • Students will perform experiments; gather data, test hypotheses, and draw conclusions based on data.
  • Students will communicate results of data they have collected in teams by preparing a written poster conforming to a typical scientific format including data tables and graphs of results.
Scope
  • The graduates can go for many fields in botany such as Plant Taxonomy, Ethnobiology, Pathology, Palaeobotany and Palynology, Plant cytology, Plant geneticists, Plant ecology, Plant Scientists and Weed Scientists etc.
  • Candidates who have advanced qualifications can pursue either an academic career in institutions as lecturers and professors or a scientific career in various scientific positions such as Plant Scientists, Weed Scientists etc.
  • They can also go and work as Researchers and as administrators.
  • They have also the option in Botanical Survey of India and other Government departments but only through UPSC exams.
