Drugs and pharmaceuticals need to be tested on animals prior to human administration. Therefore, our college maintains a state of art Animal House Facility for enabling the students to study the effect of drugs on animal models since 2004. Our college maintains a well-equipped Animal House which is set up and maintained as per the guidelines of CCSEA (Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision on Experiments on Animals). The facility is maintained by the Department of Biochemistry
The facility is utilized to carry out experiments required for PG projects and various other research works (M.Phil, Ph.D, Funded Projects, Industrial and Collaborative). Our Animal house maintains small animal species such as Mice, Rats and Rabbits. The facility has a wash area, animal feed store, animal cages, etc. All the experiments involving animals are carried out after getting approval from the IAEC (Institutional Animal Ethics Committee) as per the CCSEA guidelines
