Curriculum Development Cell(CDC)

The Curriculum Development cell started functioning from November 2018 and was formed with the primary purpose of keeping the curriculum abreast with the advances in Arts and Science education and aims to develop need based curricula that includes innovations and industrial requirements. It functions effectively in execution of autonomy in our institution that was granted to us in 2014, focusing on activities such as curriculum designing that involves the formating of general course scheme and scheme of examinations for all UG, PG and M.Phil degree programmes along with the operational guidelines and also in the formation of teaching and evaluation strategies.

It is functioning effectively in our college under the guidance and directions of the Director-Academic Affairs and Principal, as its Patron and Co - Patron. At present, Dr. G.Jothi, Dean of Life Sciences is the Co-ordinator of the Curriculum Development Cell, and other Deans are members.

Aims and Objectives of CDC are to:
  • Develop the curriculum, syllabi and look for new sources required for the various programmes run by the college.
  • Maintain and promote an ambience of creativity, innovation and improving quality.
  • Implement Choice Based Credit System(CBCS) effectively.
  • Develop programmes to improve general competencies and skills.
  • Introduce inter/ multidisciplinary studies.
  • Impart value based education and encourage women empowerment and related issues.
  • Prepare the students of rural and socially backward areas to meet the emerging social challenges and demands at regional, national and international levels.
  • Organize academic - industry meet for identification of knowledge and skill required for employability in private and public sectors.
  • Take feedback from alumni students and other stakeholders for strengthening the academic courses and programme.
  • Conduct faculty development programmes/ workshops on effective teaching modalities, curriculum designing & development, e -content preparation, research methodologies, value addition and evaluation strategies
Future Plans
  • Implement different quality management strategies to propel the growth and development in various aspects of academic and administrative fields. The college is bound to provide value based education combined with social responsibilities to the student community.

The cell is envisaged as the source of thoughts, which will mentor and monitor the methods of education offered by the institution.The current composition of Curriculum Development Cell is
