MISSION

  • Effective teaching to impart a knowledge of literary concepts among the students.
  • To better acquaint the students with literary works of great authors through visual media.
  • Adopting inductive and interactive teaching methodology that will encourage self learning.
  • Homing the Interpretative skills of students through literary analysis.

MILESTONES

The college was unveiled by the then President of India, Sri Shankar Dayal Sharma in the year 1996. Our Holiness, Srimad Andavan Swamigal is the founder of the institution. The Dept. of English was started in the same year to teach Part II English for all UG students. It has been offering BA and MA English Literature since 2009 and 2012 respectively. It was exalted to the status of the Centre for Research in 2012. M.Phil., programme was introduced in 2015. There are recognized Research Advisors of Bharathidasan University to guide M.Phil and Ph.D scholars in English, besides ten faculty members  are pursuing their research in the college. Every year, the Department organizes various literary programmes such as Drama Festival, Poetry-Recital Competition, Seminars, Conferences, Workshops and Guest Lectures for students and teachers under the auspices of Pegasus Literary Association of the Department. Members of the faculty have  publications to their credit.
